Chromari
A web studio for small businesses, and the whole platform behind it, which I designed and built on my own.
Context: Briefing
Chromari is the web studio I founded in Paris in 2026, built on one idea: everyone deserves a place online. Shops, craftspeople and small businesses get a site they are proud of, and a space to follow their project.
The site is what clients see. Underneath is a platform I designed and built on my own, from the database schema to the deployment pipeline.
What I did: Objectives cleared
- One Next.js deployment serves three spaces (clients, team admin, prospect demos), routed by hostname in middleware; every server action re-checks its own permissions.
- Full sales flow: prospect, demo site, offer, quote, e-signed contract, payment and subscription, with Stripe as the source of truth synced by webhooks.
- PostgreSQL (Supabase) with a Drizzle schema and migrations, money stored as integer cents, uploads sent straight to storage through signed URLs.
- Dockerized and deployed to a VPS behind Cloudflare by GitHub Actions on every push, with a health endpoint and daily scheduled jobs.
- A supervision page that checks, live and uncached, the three spaces, the database, Stripe and its webhooks, Cal.com, Resend, storage, Cloudflare and every client site under care.
- Demo sites protected by an invisible fingerprint and a host-derived key: a copied page shows only the copyright notice.
- A separate prospecting engine: local business discovery, explainable scoring, deduplication and HubSpot sync, runnable fully offline in dry-run mode.
Hardest problem: Boss fight
Payment flows that cannot silently go wrong
A payment provider setting, enabled by default, would have changed who the legal seller is on every checkout, and rejected some sessions outright. I routed every checkout session through one shared guard so no future flow can forget it, and documented the trap for whoever touches payments next.
Results: Rewards
- Live in production at chromari.com
- Demo sites built and delivered to real prospects
- A whole company stack built end to end by one engineer
